Lodoss War takes place in that mythical Dungeons and Dragons time. In the beginning two goddesses waged war on one another, Martha on the side of good and Kardis on the side of evil. In the end they were both destroyed and that event created the island of Lodoss. Many years have past, now on Lodoss an evil king named Beld, along with his henchmen, the Black Knight Ashram and the Wizard Wagnard, want to take over the island. The only thing that stands in Beld's way is the kingdom of Valis and a group of six heroes; Parn a young fighter who lacks experience, Deedlit an elf who becomes Parns girlfriend, Ghim a dwarf who is searching for a priestess who helped him, Slayn a wizard and friend of Ghim, Eoth a priest who is Parn's best friend, and a good natured thief named Woodchuck. In the background there is also another character, the Grey Witch Karla, who wants to make sure that Lodoss is never under the control of one person for too long. Half way through the series, Beld dies, and Ashram takes his place in the conquest of Lodoss. But when Ashram takes control, Wagnard tries to resurrect the evil goddess Kardis, by sacrificing Deedlit. Can Parn save Deedlit before it's to late? (What do you think?)
